Giclee Printing FAQ
What is Giclee Printing?
Giclée printing is a high-quality, fine art digital printing process that uses archival inks, the finest papers and professional-grade printers to produce long-lasting, museum-quality prints.
What makes Giclée printing different from other printing methods?
Giclée printing offers superior colour accuracy, sharpness, and detail compared to standard printing methods. It uses high-resolution printers and archival inks, making it ideal for reproducing fine art and photography as well as premium archival materials.
What types of paper and materials do you use for Giclée prints?
We offer a range of premium papers, including textured fine art paper, smooth cotton rag, and professional photo papers, all selected for their archival quality and ability to capture vivid colours and details.
Can I print any size with Giclée printing?
Our standard sizes for prints are A5 to A0.
We can accommodate a wide range of print sizes, from small prints to large-scale artworks. Custom sizes are also available up to 44” wide to suit your specific needs.
Can I frame my prints?
Yes we make gallery quality framed prints in the 12 most popular print sizes from A4 to A1. Choose from black, white and oak frames and 6 archival Giclee papers to make prints that will last 100 years+
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes, we have flexible bulk quantity discounts, meaning the more prints or frames you order, the cheaper each print gets.
How long do Giclee prints last?
When properly cared for, Giclée prints can last 75-100 years or more without significant fading, thanks to the use of high-quality, fade-resistant inks and archival-grade paper.
Can you print from digital files?
We can print directly from high-resolution digital files. Artists often photograph their artwork or use a local scanning service to digitise artwork. We do not currently offer a scanning service.
What file formats and resolutions do you accept for Giclée printing?
We recommend providing high-resolution files (300 DPI or higher) in formats like JPEG, TIFF, or PDF to ensure the best print quality. We recommend RGB colour profile as Giclee Printing can reproduce a wider gamut than CMYK and other print methods.
How do I care for my Giclée prints?
To ensure longevity, display your prints away from direct sunlight, humidity, and high temperatures. Framing behind UV-protected glass can further preserve your prints.
How long does shipping take?
Standard turnaround times are usually 3 working days, but this can vary based on order size and framing requirements. Expedited options are available upon request.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer international shipping with protective packaging to ensure your prints arrive in perfect condition.
